Brake Fluid Checks — common questions
How often should brake fluid be changed?
Most manufacturers recommend every 2 to 3 years. Florida humidity makes this more important.
What happens if brake fluid is old?
It absorbs water, which lowers its boiling point and can corrode brake parts.
Is a flush the same as topping off?
No. A flush replaces all the old fluid; topping off just adds new fluid to old.
